This is a good fight for honesty, decency, for our future.

Michie Hitosis. Sipet-Sipet Espesyal Feb 17-23, 2003.

The First Radio and TV station in Palawan is DYPR, by the Palawan Broadcasting Corporation. For Millennials I am sure you still remember Michie Hitosis as she anchored the daily Palawan TV Patrol, she was groom as the Fairy God Mother of the station due to her handling of Puso ng Bayan segment in TV  and in Radio.

Michie is still in Puerto Princesa currently working as a City Hall employee assign in City Tourism Office. Now married with two sons.

“Malago ang ating ekonomiya, this is what turns us from being the sick man of Asia, to Asia’s Bright Star, marami ang nabigyan ng trabaho, our unemployment is at its lowest level in 10 years”

Eto ang Pilipinas na pinaglalaban natin, dakila an gating lahi, dakila an gating bansa. This is a fight worth fighting, this is a fight for our country.”

“Pundasyon pa lang etu, the best is yet to come, another six years of honest, decent, hardworking governance, at mararating natin ang pinapangarap natin, Isang maunlad na Pilipinas.”

Thank you for calling… Mar Roxas.

Thank you for calling este for filing this law, Mr. Palengke and soon to be Mr. President.

Summer Skincare by Dermplus.

Beat the Heat by Avoiding These Summer Skincare Mistakes This coming summer is looking to be a hot one, which means many of us will likely head to the beach to cool off. If you're not careful, however, you could get more than just sand, sea, and sun. Protect your skin against the sweltering heat this summer by being prepared and informed. Start by getting to know and avoiding these all too common summer skincare mistakes. Neglecting Proper Sunscreen Use Sunscreen should be an important part of your summer skincare routine, but many of us do away with it for various reasons.

For some, it's expensive, it doesn't feel good on the skin, or it's not practical if you're not planning to stay under the sun for a long time. First off, not all sunscreen lotions are expensive. These may be a bit pricier compared to ordinary lotions, but the purchase is worth it. Many sunscreens on the market are also formulated for quick skin absorption, which does away with the sticky residual feeling.

Dermplus sunscreens, for example, provide excellent skin protection from the sun, features a quick absorb formula, and comes in different variants and sizes depending on your need and skin type. One important thing many people don't know is that you can get sunburn even when indoors. UV light can penetrate through glass windows, which means even if you are at home or in the office and you happen to be next to a window, you still are exposed. Make it a habit to use Dermplus to all exposed areas of the body every day, especially this summer. Ignoring Dead Skin Cells The sun and sand may feel good on your feet, but these can damage the skin. Be sure to exfoliate your skin before hitting the beach. Removing the dead skin cells allow for the growth of new, healthy cells, which makes the skin smoother and feeling softer. Exfoliation also allows the sunblock and other skincare products to be more effective, as it can go deeper into the skin. Relying on Clothes Alone for Sun Protection Our summer outfits are often light, airy, and colorful. This, however, could mean your skin (even the non-exposed parts) does not get enough protection. The sando, the sun dress, or that light summery polo shirt provide very little protection against the sun. For this, it's best to sunscreen it up all over, and maybe even getting clothes with built-in sun protection. Getting Dehydrated Dehydration not only causes headaches and extreme thirst, it also causes the skin to dry out. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water or non-sugary, non-caffeinated beverages. This balances the body and skin's moisture levels. Ignoring that Sunburn If you really can't stay away from the heat and the sun for a long time, be sure to soothe the skin as soon as possible.

The Dermplus Aftersun Hydrating Body Gel is very effective in soothing the skin, reducing inflammation and redness, and preventing peeling. The sooner you deal with the sun damage on the skin, the better. Make this summer fun and safe not just for the family or the barkada, but for your skin as well.

About Dermplus Dermplus is a quality brand by JLC Miller & Co. Inc. The product line includes different sunscreen variants as well as moisturizing and cooling gels. JLC Miller & Co. Inc. is an ISO-certified company that created for a number of trusted hair and skincare products. Know more about the products by visiting Dermplus.com.ph. and their official facebook page.

MARaming Trabaho.

“Nursery Of Curiosities" A Solo Exhibit By Nasser Lubay.

Nasser Lubay
The Artist Playground, Arte Pintura and Talent Factory Incorporated proudly present NURSERY OF CURIOSITIES -- A SOLO EXHIBIT BY NASSER LUBAY.

A cocktail reception and formal opening ceremonies with distinguished special guests of honor from the seven fields of art will be held on May 15 Sunday- 6 pm at the Arte Pintura Gallery located at the G/F The Address at Wack Wack, Wack Wack Road, Mandaluyong City
An equally interesting highlight of the exhibit is the world premiere of “Nursery of Curiosities – The Theme,” an original music written by award-winning composer Jesse Lucas.
A specially-printed catalogue of "Nursery of Curiosities" will also
be launched to accompany the exhibit.
Curated by Philip Almazan Paraan, “Nursery of Curiosities” will run until May 31.

EXHIBITION NOTES
After making significant strides in the art scene highlighted by winning runner-up honors in an international art competition, Nasser Lubay finds the ripe moment to present a cohesive array of his works to this day. This first solo exhibition marks an important point in Lubay’s art making practice as he puts together a seminal collection, a survey reflecting his development  as an artist throughout the years.  In this suite of work, he foments the idea of irreversible growth and germination. Intently, he underlines such beginnings in the history of life, such formative stages and natural process of growing, of being and becoming.  In this instance, art like in nature, ripens or demonstrates fruition over necessary periods of time.

His images are often billowing vistas of narrative laden, layered images if not singularly amorphous images that bloom with flourishing details and other suggestive elements. Subjects and themes whether inspired by Mayan cultures, animals, buildings, wallpapers, real or imagined or just products of quotidian thoughts and everyday living, all find connection in nature and natural processes.  Intuitive creativity is the wisdom of this engagement and artworks were conjured and visually phrased in images that can be fantastical and patently surreal as pastiche and veiled interpretations of reality, partly guided in form by intellect and feelings.

Immediately, Lubay shows interest in growing things and biotic process as he proffers the idea of sense of growth, creative commitment, promise and potential, beginnings and man’s inborn and inherent instincts and focus on lives or alive or even what men has created to ensure his survival.  The seed and anything plant like as the core metaphor of beginnings, nascent phases of things leading to their graceful trajection ---- they have nowhere to go but to shoot upward and grow.  It can be also be an allusion to the creative mind’s inherent character to unfold its limitless potential.

For the artist, growth, change and mutability are a cosmic reality and in fact change and evolution are necessary and inherent processes of human experience.   Not just humans but everything characteristically grows as living matters.   Likewise, growth extends beyond physical and material but the in the sphere of ideas.  Men (and women) have the power to create things as well as part of his nature.   As a result, Lubay not just tackles and frames this reality but at some point they do reflect on things created in the past and modern constructs, inanimate objects and man-made realities perhaps created now or earlier that continue to form our environment and dictates our lives.

Likewise, our understanding and relationships continue to be ever complex in form yet reveal imprints and hints of past ancient wisdom and the processes it went and will go through. As a matter of awareness, he turns to personal experiences and memory as aestheticizing passages and responses to convey his art and how he wants pursue his view and feelings of things and the callow delights as well as special capacity to create images and convey the world in a unique and personal way.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I live in a new world where it is surreal and where dreams, fantasies are the reality. I adhere to the thought that everything is as what we imagine it to be. My reflections in canvas reveal some imaginings and ruminations which meld with reality triggered by my past and ongoing experiences, and they have such personal weight that I hope can affect others who encounter my works. I am inclined to paint my perpetually evolving encounters and re-imagined moments, frustrations, exaggerations that I try to compress and expand in my reflexively conjured images. My paintings are also of other people and our environment, the longings and aspirations with such hope and intent that these create magic and fruitful engagement in this dazed, often conflicted human environment suffused with suffering, agony as well as love.

My art is a new semi-abstraction created through psychedelic processes but as I explore my skills and sensibilities, I am interested in the melding of traditional aesthetics and contemporary visual outcomes. I allow my mind to wander freely and unceasingly, even to get lost in the moment, flux of imagination and small epiphanies until they produce visual marks that yield their own resonance and sense of meaning.

Nursery of Curiosities is an introduction to my imaginary world as a visual poet of my time. We all have these little stories that have powerful meanings, through these, I try to capture and embrace the feelings and ideas so that I may be able to share to everyone the experience. In most cases it heals me and I hope it does the same with everyone else. In this installment are my pieces being born, to somehow share a lighter perspective about life. To hopefully inspire us to explore more possibilities and to drive our soul from what it is not and believe that this is where it should be.

Sa makabagong panahon, tinatawag itong Korap (from Corruption).

Defining Leadership for the leaders of today.

In local settings, Barber shops now a days are all heat up in terms of debate, arguing about who is the better leader, the one deserving the votes of people in this colorful election fiasco. But truly, how we define a good leader in this past changing time?

In the text books, leadership is all about influencing, about how you can motivate people to follow your words, your command that is based on your belief and principles in life. But this definition change on how a person sees what is a leader, in what is the current situation of the country, of what is the one need to be address. The leader before should have a firm stand against what is oppressing, the one could bring us to liberation and freedom, and concurrently the one who could give us food in our plate.

Following some talks in the office, many believe that the leader, this generation need is the one who could save us from poverty and can liberate us from working too much but not getting enough in wages.  The new leadership that people of this coming election should be is somewhat help us to realize, that working abroad is not the solution to get away from all debts, and alleviate the way of living many of us dream.

In the records of Bayang Matuwid standard bearer Mar Roxas, leadership of this kind is not new anymore, being the Mr.Palengke before who fight for fair practices in consumerism, and the one who barely represent the President in many delicate situation, is like training him for the worst, and giving him heads up on what to come when time come he wish for the highest position in the land.

Most in my rank, some millennials who study how Business Processing Outsourcing industry bloom in the Philippines, believe that Roxas has a high regards in uplifting the lives of his countrymen, even though it sound so political, his track record of supporting BPO to prosper, is his way of thinking that you don’t have to go abroad just to earn the same amount of money, that our bagong bayani is getting overseas.  In BPO alone, it shows that it is the backbone of this country in a steadfast economy.

Many may not agree, but in this little knowledge we can observe who have the good leadership, who has the love and passion to serve.
