"Papunta Pabalik" Autotelic major album now officially release.

From an indie band and now releasing their major label debut album “Papunta Pabalik” under MCA Music, Autotelic is poised to be the next band to watch out for making noise and a large following from the indie scene. The much awaited album, which contains the new single “GISING” a song about daydreaming letting yourself drown in the feeling of being in love, as if it’s good to be true with luminous-sounding, positive and exciting vibe that is very easy to relate to Filipinos.
Autotelic call their music “Iyak Sayaw” genre, fresh and very modern sounding but at the same time has its 80s/90s vibe in it.  “Masasaya ang tunog at tono ng mga kanta namin, pero karamihan ng lyrics ay malungkot o di kaya ang pagkaramdaman ng nostalgia” said Josh Villena, band vocalist. “The moment we were signed by MCA Music, the feeling did not sink in immediately. We were all processing our thoughts and never have we imagined becoming an artist of a major music label. ” Josh said when asked how does it feel to be signed by MCA Music.

“Papunta Pabalik” is a very personal experience and journey for the vocalist of the band, “As I move forward and go on with my life, I always look back to the past. Kadalasan mahirap lang makakalimot, kahit alam mong dapat ay isunusulong mo na lang ang buhay”. Most of Autotelic’s songs in the album are based on true experience. The band described the whole album “Para siyang rollercoaster ng emotions ng bawat isa sa amin.”
Papunta Pabalik album cover.
The album also features new songs, “Languyin” about facing and accepting all the challenges you encounter when you want to achieve something, whether in life or in love, “Unstable” is about an unstable relationship between two people, but end up being inseparable. Villena said “Hanap is about pagigising sa umaga’t mapagtanto na siya pa rin ang gusto mo at nais mo siyang Makita.” According to the band, the upbeat "Misteryoso" is the very first song that they wrote, “Tungkol naman ito sa pagkaakit ng isang tao. Hindi niya inakalang ganoon katindi ang pagkakuha ng kanyang atensyon ng isang babaeng sandali lang niyang nasilayan” Villena said. “Close Your Eyes” is a song about not giving up on yourself. “There are moments that we just want to run away from our troubles” Villena said. “Dahilan” is a more personal track which was inspired by a real-life experience. “ang malapit nang pagbitaw sa isang relasyon dahil malalim na ang naging sugat at hindi na ito maayos-ayos” shared by Villena. “Mapa” is about looking for inspiration, encouragement and motivation from your love ones. “Balik” is about getting older and having regrets in the past.

Autotelic described the recording process as “kung ikukumpara sa una naming release ng independent album, mas naplano nang mabuti at napagusapan ang bawat galaw naming sa pagrecord ng mga kanta. Before we stepped in the recording studio, we made sure that each song was properly plotted out and that each member had a significant role. The process was very fulfilling. Magkasundong-magkasundo kaming lahat sa studio at masaya kaming katrabaho si Marc(audio engineer). Tahimik at mapayapa kung saan kami nagrecord. Stressful din siya at some point at siyempre hindi naiwasan ang pagkapagod ng mga tenga. Minsan umabot pa sa nakakatulog na kami habang inaanalyze ang mga kanta haha! As much as possible din, dapat kumpleto kaming lahat tuwing session. Kailangan naming ang utak, tenga, at opinion ng bawat member.” said Josh Villena.
Autotelic is a six-piece Filipino pop/rock band comprised of guitarist and vocalist Josh Villena, Kai Honasan (Keyboards and vocals), Neil Tin (guitars), EJ Edralin (synth), Timothy “Pabs” Vargas (bass guitar) and Gep Macadaeg (drums).

Silya Rocking Chairs now offers by Gateway Mall.

It is customary for us Filipinos to show utmost respect towards our elders. They are the ones who have shown us love and care, making sure to attend to our needs as children, eventually providing us wisdom as we coast through life as grown individuals. In return, we make sure they are cared for and comfortable at all times, whether at home or while enjoying a day stroll.

With an advocacy of providing utmost comfort and convenience to the elderly, Araneta Center partnered with S.I.L.Y.A. Foundation to provide resting chairs as added amenities for the elderly patrons of the award-winning mall. In a turnover ceremony held on October 8, 2016, Gateway Mall accepted S.I.L.Y.A rocking chairs that will be available to the elderly at the Gateway Cineplex lobby.
The event is in line with the Elderly Filipino Week or Linggo ng Nakatatandang Pilipino. As mandated through Proclamation No. 470, the annual celebration emphasizes the important role older persons play in nation building.

S.I.L.Y.A.  rocking chairs’ founder and social entrepreneur Tito Alcala was present at the event to formally turnover the rocking chairs. S.I.L.Y.A. or Sa Iyo Lolo at Lola Yantok aming Alay is the fulfillment of his personal advocacy of giving compassion to the elderly by addressing their special needs. He has provided rocking chairs to various establishments like shopping malls, airports, hotels, and restaurants for free. He shared that the idea stemmed from his own experience when he brought his octogenarian parents to the mall and noticed that public places lack comfortable resting places for the elderly. More importantly, it is also his way of expressing his gratitude to his parents.

It's a "Boy" for Tanghalang Ateneo this October 19.

Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running theater company of the Loyola Schools of the Ateneo de Manila University opens its 38th season: De/Constructing Narratives with Boy, a thought-provoking new play by award-winning American playwright Anna Ziegler. This will go onstage at the Ateneo de Manila’s Black Box Theater (Fine Arts Annex) on October 19-November 12.

The play, which just had its world premiere produced by Keen Company in New York City earlier this year, is translated into Filipino by Guelan Varela-Luarca and directed by Ed Lacson, Jr. Tanghalang Ateneo’s production of this play not only serves as its Philippine premiere but is also its first international staging and the first one produced outside of the original New York City production.

Boy is a story of self-realization and gender identity, a journey to find one’s self amidst doubt and confusion. The play follows the life of Adam Turner who, as a new-born baby, had an unfortunate medical accident resulting in his parents deciding to raise him as a girl upon the advice of a renowned psychologist. As Adam grows older, his confusion about who he is and what he wants to become in life becomes more and more apparent that his parents eventually decide to reveal to him his biological gender. The discovery leads Adam to re-create himself, severing all communication with his psychologist.

Cholo Ledesma plays this challenging title role. Teroy Guzman plays Dr. Wendell Barnes, Adam’s psychologist. Passionate about his work and ideals, Dr. Barnes has trouble looking past his own intentions to see the tragic consequences of his actions.

Camille Abaya plays Jenny, Adam’s love interest. A down-to-earth, single mother, Jenny is confused about Adam’s temperament and his relentless persistence in wanting to pursue a relationship with her.

Mayen Estañero and Wenah Nagales alternate as Trudy, Adam’s mother. Like all mothers, Trudy has always tried to look out for the best interests of her child but is undone by her desperation to find an immediate solution to a life-altering problem.

Juliene Mendoza plays Doug, Adam’s father. Often absent because of work, Doug leaves the responsibility of raising Adam to Dr. Barnes and Trudy, with terrible consequences.

A nominee for the 2016 Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Award, Boy was inspired by a real-life psychological case study conducted in the U.S. from the late ‘60s to the early ‘90s. This study, commonly referred to as the case of “Dr. Money And The Boy With No Penis,” is about a botched circumcision that leads to the child’s parents seeking the help of renowned sexologist Dr. John Money who agrees to the counseling of the child in exchange for conducting the study.

The artistic team of Boy is composed of Glenn Sevilla Mas (Artistic Director and Company Moderator, Tanghalang Ateneo), Ed Lacson, Jr. (Director and Set Designer), Guelan Varela-Luarca (Translator), Teresa Barrozo (Sound Designer and Original Music Composer), Barbie Tan-Tiongco (Lighting Designer), Carlo Pagunaling (Costume Designer), and Ange Espiritu (Graphics Designer).

The playdates of Boy are October 19-22, 25-29, November 4-5, and 8-12. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. while Saturday matinee shows start at 2:30 p.m.

Ampalaya Monologues celebrates 1st year Anniversary.

To celebrate one year of ‘hugot’ artistry, the Theater in Alternative Platforms shall present a one-night only anniversary show of the very popular “Ampalaya Monologues” on October 15 – Saturday from 6 pm – 10 pm at the PETA Theater Center located at Eymard Road, E. Rodriguez Q.C.

“Ampalaya Monologues” shall showcase 15 of their best monologues and 5 new ones. There will be a combination of Dance, Live Music, and other exciting surprise twists. As a prelude, some of today’s best Spoken Word artists in the country will be featured as special guests.

“Ampalaya Monologues” is an episodic play that features a collection of short monologues about love, heartaches and bitterness, as written by Mark Ghosn. Inspired from Eve Ensler’s play Vagina Monologues, the show is set in an actual bar and tells the inspiring stories of diverse individuals who’ve tasted the different flavors of bitterness that love has to offer.

The story of the character on each monologue varies ---  there’s the bitter queen who got dumped for her own bestfriend, the boy next door who’s trying to get out of the friendzone, the single lady who is a forever third wheel, the NBSB and her almost-lover, the LDR couple, the womanizer who got cheated on, the guy experiencing his first moved-on moment, and many more. No matter what your heart’s story is, there’s an Ampalaya Monologue ready to pull its string.
The monologues are performed by theater actors from TAP – Theater in Alternative Platforms. Through Ampalaya Monologues, TAP has created a powerful art movement and a whole new performance arena, gathering audiences in galleries, coffee shops, parks, bars, and other venues, to bring the art of theatre closer to people, making it more accessible and relatable to today’s generation.

For the anniversary show on October 15, the cast and monologues to be presented are as follows: “Panata ng Pusong Bagong Laya” - Mark Ghosn; “Sa Pagitan ng Tayo Ba at Hindi Na” - Rain Gutierrez; “Hanash ng Soloista” - Janine Lloce; “Hindi Pwedeng Hindi Na” - Dave Ramones; “There's A Basha in All of Us” - Mariko Urimoto; “Violet Ang Color ng Pag-ibig” - Berna Manipon; “Mga Bulong sa Hangin” - Gracia Paterno; “Akin Ka Na Lang, Please?” - Yves Gutierrez; “Ang Huling Tagay na Ilalaklak Ko Para Sa'yo” - Yan-yan Gervero; “Mga Sayaw sa Ilalim ng Mga Ilaw ng Pinakamahabang Pebrero”  - Patty Arro; “Inukit sa Mga Tala” - Elizabeth Concepcion; “Saan Nagtatago Ang Mga Nawawalang Paalam?”  - R'love Rojas; “Huwag” - Ace Alfaro; “Hanggang Throwback Na Lang” - Hogi Cadlum; and “Ikaw, Si Distance at Ako”- Euwie Von Loria.

Special guest performers of the Prelude include: Spoken Word Artists - Kookie Tuason, Maimai Cantillano, Zuela Herrera, Brian Vee, Rod Marmol, Mark Dimaisip, Rommel Pamaos and Vim Nadera.  Musicians – Pauline Lauron, Unwind, Chasing Deadlines and Suicidal Genius. Live Art – Cavity Collectives.
The writer, Mark Ghosn, has not been in an official relationship his whole life. But he has known a lot of people who has been in-and-out of so many relationships that he is, in a way, thankful for it. He is the shoulder to cry on, the go-to person for love quotes and advice, the kind of friend who will listen as you go heal your broken heart. And so one day, he decided to sit in front of a computer and turn these bitter stories into art in a form of monologues, and so, Ampalaya Monologues was born.

The artistic and production team of AMPALAYA MONOLOGUES are as follows: Artistic Director / Playwright – Mark Ghosn; Production Consultant – Dennis Marasigan; Technical Director – Dave Ramones; Creatives – Yan-yan Gervero; Publicist – Toots Tolentino; and Production Manager – Mariko Urimoto.

CD-R King LED Light Tube foir a change.

Disruption in technology has changed the way we live. As the cliché goes “Nothing is permanent except change”. What seemed to be a harmless household product, later on proved to be harmful in the long run. Years after fluorescent was discovered, it was found that fluorescent gives off a small amount of ultraviolet light and that 8 hours of exposure under a fluorescent light is already equivalent to an hour of sun exposure.

Research and studies also associate conditions like migraine, stress, mood swings and eye strain to prolonged exposure to florescent light. Environment issues on fluorescent is also a great concern. Fluorescent contains a small amount of mercury. Careless disposal can affect the ecological system.
These studies has prompted most household to switching into CFL during the last few decades which was considered less harmful but still contains fluorescent, thus mercury is still present.
The invention of LED has saved us from the long term use of fluorescent. Nowadays, you will rarely see a household which still uses fluorescent light.

Luminosity factor
If household were very susceptible to changing from fluorescent to LED light, commercial offices proved to be less flexible since they question the luminosity of the proposed light.
Larger commercial space requires high luminosity that gives a higher light output. If broken down to lumens versus floor space, fluorescent will boil down to be a cheaper source.

LED light tube
Recent innovation has given a solution to the luminosity factor as it introduces the LED Light Tube, giving commercial offices the lumens they require minus the toxins. LED light tube gives the same high light output of fluorescent with the benefits of LED technology.

CD-R King, your one-stop media provider with its effort to help protect the environment brings this innovation closer to the general public as they offer the technology at a very affordable price.
CD-R King LED light tubes are available in T-8 10watts (php120), T-5 18watts (Php150) and T-5 20watts (Php200), all of which can last up to 50,000 hours. LED light tubes can be purchase with casing or as a replacement tube.

Available in all CD-R King branches nationwide. For more updates, Like/follow them on FB: /cdrkingph. (PR)
